For those students who would like to get their picture retaken and bought a package, they MUST bring their package down to the cameras for an even exchange, as pictures will not be reprinted unless those are returned. Our students are changing the future with an Hour of Code
Dear Parents,
We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works.
But only a fraction of us are learning how technology works. Only 51% of all high schools offer computer science.
That’s why our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (October 1 – December 18). More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code. Our Hour of Code is making a statement that Arno is ready to teach these foundational 21st-century skills. To continue bringing programming activities to your students, we want to make our Hour of Code event huge. I encourage you to volunteer, reach out to local media, share the news on social media channels and consider hosting additional Hour of Code events in the community.
See http://hourofcode.com/br/ en for details, and help spread the word.
Warming Tree
In the spirit of sharing holiday warmth, we will be collecting new, warm outerwear like hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves to share on our warming tree located in the main hallway. Please consider donating to help out less fortunate children by December 16. Thank you for your help
Building to Kindergarten
Our annual fall Building to Kindergarten presentation was a huge success! We have a huge crowd that packed the cafeteria to learn about what it takes to be an entering kindergarten student next fall. If you have a preschool child entering in the Fall of 2023, but were unable to attend, please contact the office for the materials. Thanks to our kinder team including Jeanine Haskin, Nickie Roller, Cristina Mercer, Cassie Harrison, our reading coach Beth Wesley and all our reading intervention paras for creating a great program!
